India Gate has its origin in the foothills of the north of the north-western Himalayas – the home of basmati. The best harvest of the region is identified and they quality tested – before its aged and sent for cleaning, milling and packaging at India’s most advanced rice making plant.
- Pre Cooking: Rinse the rice thoroughly in a sieve under cold running water. Soak for 30 minutes.
- Open pan cooking: Boil a pan of water. Add the soaked rice and stir. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes on medium heat. Drain in a sieve. Rinse with more boiling water, Draine and server.
- Closed pan cooking:Place the soaked rice in a saucepan, add water. Bring to boil and cover with a tight lid. Allow it simmer for 12 minutes. Remove from heat and allow pan to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
